Hello, I'm The Gritter
Mother, entrepreneur, and perpetual work-in-progress figuring out how to balance it all.
The Grit Log was born in the chaotic intersection of motherhood and ambition. Like many women, I found myself constantly pulled in multiple directions—trying to build a business while raising little ones, pursuing professional dreams while being present for bedtime stories.
I started this blog in the midst of what felt like constant division—my laptop open during naptime, business calls scheduled around preschool pickup, and strategy sessions that sometimes happened in the glow of a night light. It wasn't perfect, but it was real.
The name "The Grit Log" came from the realization that success in both motherhood and business isn't about perfection—it's about persistence. It's about showing up day after day, even when things aren't perfectly balanced. Even when the house isn't perfectly clean, the presentation isn't perfectly polished, or you haven't perfectly mastered the art of being in two places at once.
What You'll Find Here
This is a space for those of us navigating the beautiful mess of divided attention—mothers who are building businesses, pursuing careers, or simply trying to maintain identities beyond parenthood.
You'll find honest stories about:
- Motherhood — The transformative journey that changes everything, including how we approach work
- Business — Building something meaningful while managing the responsibilities of family life
- Balance — The constant recalibration required when juggling multiple priorities
- Productivity — Making the most of limited time when everyone needs a piece of you
- Growth — The personal evolution that happens when you're stretched between worlds
I don't have all the answers, but I'm committed to showing up authentically and sharing what I learn along the way. Because done is better than perfect, and we're all figuring this out together.
"Success is not about having it all perfectly balanced at all times. It's about pursuing what matters most across all aspects of life, making peace with imperfection, and finding joy in the journey."
